General information
American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) are stock certificates issued by depositary institutions abroad, with underlying securities of Brazilian companies. Considered important instruments for companies to raise funds overseas, ADRs were developed by international financial institutions to overcome natural barriers formed by different operational procedures, languages, legal frameworks, among others.
In the role of custodian bank, Itaú offers custody services for the underlying assets of ADRs.
